Whenever you are doing something new or attempting to learn more about a subject, it is really helpful to establish an intent about what you want to learn or accomplish. Abraham-Hicks talks about using this technique for every aspect of your life when they refer to “segmented intent.” Paul, the Communion of Light, asks you to create an intent before every session, whether you meet with him in person or a group.
Likewise, it helps to be very clear what you want to accomplish within your meditation session. The following are a few intents you might want to accomplish in a meditation session.
- I want to find the highest connection to Source Energy I can.
- I want to understand what it means to be in the Vortex.
- I want to find the best feeling thought I can about the subject of money.
- I want to dwell in the feeling of what it would be like to be debt-free.
- I want to align myself with the vibration of having a better relationship.
- I want to expand what I know about the “Mechanics of the Universe.”
- I want to give myself love, and fill myself with the love of the Universe.
- I want to unravel this conflict that is bothering me and see it from the vantage point of Source Energy.
- I want to connect with my inner guides.
- I want to establish a better connection to the world around me.
- I want to establish a better connection to the people around me.
- I want to understand better the nature of love.
- I want to explore further what it is I would like to do next with my life.
As you can see, there are many paths you can take with meditation. However, if you don’t have an intention or direction, it is hard to know whether you have learned or accomplished anything.
Let’s take an example. Somewhere, sometime in your path, someone said something like, “Dude, you really gotta learn how to use the Internet.”
And it seemed like a good idea. So you got a connection and you set up your email and you opened your browser. Okay, so now you are on the browser home page. You know you want to learn about this Internet thing and you are staring at what is virtually an ad for a company. What do you do next?
Now, suppose you went through the same process but you were really clear on your intent in doing so. Say your intention was to learn more about Abraham. You set up your Internet connection like before and you open to your browser’s homepage and see the advertisement again. But this time you see in the corner, “Search the web.” So you type Abraham in the search box, and before you know it you are watching videos of Abraham.
The same thing can happen in meditation. Without an intent, a direction, how will you know if you have done it right? Yes, whatever you get is perfect for you, but why spend your meditation time wondering what it is you are supposed to accomplish. When you set an intent, you have a beacon to follow.
In essence, you are turning the Law of Attraction toward the meditation process, focusing on what it is you want, and allowing it to happen.
More soon.
