This article originally appeared as a guest post on Jeannette Maw’s Good Vibe Blog.

This question cannot be answered as such because it is predicated on a fiction. In truth, no one can ever know what anyone else is thinking. At best, they can make a guess based upon false assumptions.

If you will bear with me, I will create a metaphysical construct in which we can re-examine the dynamics of relationships and from that, reformulate the question to make it more useful.

To start with, we are each magnificent beings of light and love. We are both individual and All-that-is. How we are individual is that we each have a unique blend of spiritual gifts. And as such when we create, we expand the Universe in ways no other individual is capable of.

As a very powerful part of this creation of expansion, you chose to have a physical experience. When you did you created an idea of you that is very different from who you really are, a being of light and love. This idea of you is based upon millions of years of experiences, colored by your unique mix of spiritual gifts.

Anyone you have a relationship with also has a unique mix of spiritual gifts through which they have interpreted millions of years of experiences.

You may agree that an object is green, but your interpretation of “greenness” will be unique to you. You may agree that a certain arrogant fuzzball is a cat, but your interpretation of what a cat is will be unique to you.

Because you have a unique interpretation of everything in your experience, there is simply no way you can know how anyone is interpreting you or anything else.

Therefore, we can also conclude that the way most people think of relationships is also a fiction. That is not to say we don’t blend reality, it is just slightly different than how we are used to thinking of it.

I have a relationship with Jeannette. I don’t have a clue who Jeannette is but I have assigned her the qualities of carefreeness, cuteness, slightly flirtatious, and a whole lot of fun. In essence, I have created a fiction of Jeannette that matches my unique point of view. She in turn cannot know me and has created her own fiction. In our blending of reality, Chip has a relationship with Chip’s idea of Jeannette, and Jeannette has a relationship with Jeannette’s idea of Chip.

Another way of saying this is I line up with a version of Jeannette that matches the vibration of my expectations. And Jeannette lines up with the version of Chip that matches the vibration of her expectations.

In the same way, you have a relationship with the idea of everyone one you meet. You have a relationship with the idea of every plant and animal you encounter. In fact you even have a relationship with the idea of every thought you think. And each idea you think carries with it a unique interpretation .

In other words everything you see about you is a projection of your interpretation. It’s all you baby.

You truly create your physical experience through your thoughts.

So let’s get back to the original question:

How do I stop caring what other people think?

We are still not quite there yet. No doubt you’ve heard the expression, “What you don’t like about someone else is what you don’t like about yourself.”

If you get that what you experience in other people is a projection of your vibration, what you are looking at in a person you don’t like is a projection of you.

Some examples of how this might work is:

If you are angry, you will attract the versions of people that will yell at you.

If you are feeling guilty, you will attract the versions of people that will punish you.

If you are feeling shame, you will attract the versions of people that will “put you down.”

So when you are worried about what others think, what you are really worried about is exposing yourself to yourself through the mirror of “other people.”

Now you can change the question to something more useful. You can ask, “What is it that I’m judging myself for that I’m not quite ready to face?”

I’d love to hear your comments.

This was a question asked today on the Facebook Group, Practical Wizardry. (Click the link and I’ll add you.)

To answer the question I’m going to create a hierarchical construct of truth. Keep in mind this is only one way to look at it and you can tweak it to suit your belief system.

First we start with the fundamental truths.

God is.

You exist because God loves you.

You are eternal.

Below that we have Law of Attraction. I like Paul, the Communion of Light’s term: The Singular Organizing Principle because it is more descriptive of what is going on. The truths associated with Law of Attraction are:

The thoughts you give birth to lead to the birth of thoughts of similar vibration.

What you believe to be true is your manifested reality.

Below Law of Attraction we have conscious creation. The truths for conscious creation are:

There is only one rule for creation: You make all the rules.

Whatever you choose to believe is right.

Everything below this point is a construct. Two very useful constructs are gravity and time. Gravity allows us to move about by walking and driving and flying. Time allows us to organize our experiences so that we make sense of them easier.

We assume a lot when we are born into a culture. We are taught a “constructed reality” primarily by our parents both through spoken words and actions, but the primary way we are indoctrinated is through the dominant vibrations our parents are emanating. Part of this indoctrination into the culture is our religious path.

Now to answer the question of combining Biblical beliefs with Law of Attraction by bringing up three of the truths listed above.

What you believe to be true is your manifested reality.

You make all the rules.

Whatever you choose to believe is right.

So if you believe Law of Attraction conflicts with the Bible, you are right and Law of Attraction will bring you more proof of how they conflict.

And if you believe Law of Attraction is supported by the Bible, you are right and Law of Attraction will bring you more proof of how they support each other.

You simply get to choose what you want to be right about. If you waver between the two, that is where the fun is, because you will find evidence for both sides. When you look for evidence of conflict, you find it. And when you look for evidence of support, you find it.

In the end, you will decide based upon which choice feels like relief to you. The one that feels like relief is the one that best suits your version of reality.

My mother had a rough life. She never knew her father and her mother was an alcoholic that “would sleep with anyone who bought her a drink.” She was raised by her strict grandfather, a school principle, and it was her job to “see to her mother.”

She told stories of, as a young girl, sitting for hours on a sidewalk waiting for my drunk grandmother to wake up. She talked about how if my grandmother had no money, which was all the time, she would pick cigarette butts out of the gutter and smoke them.

She had a saying, “Wish in one hand and spit in the other, then see which one gets full faster.”

She would say this to me anytime I said I wanted something. What it meant, of course, is that I’m never going to get what I want so I might as well not want anything. Disappointment management was her primary strategy for dealing with her hardships.

And she taught it to me.

Which was exactly what I wanted.

In between lives, before we take on physical form, we have a “conversation” with our spiritual guide that goes something like this:

“What do you want to do?”

And you tell them.

“How do you want to do it?”

And you tell them.

Then they lay out several scenarios ranging from easy to extremely difficult in which you pick your parents and circumstances of your journey in physical form.

My mission was to become a conscious creator. My strategy was to move into a circumstance where wanting and having were excluded from the realm of possibility. In fact, it would be so ingrained in my consciousness that if I attempted to have more than a meager existence, my life would come crashing down on me.

If I could become a conscious creator from this starting point, then it would be a skill I would never lose.

And so I stepped into that black hole vibration.

I created a life of struggle and adversity according to plan. My mother, in turn, fulfilled her side of the contract.

No doubt, you made similar choices with your own mission. My challenge to you is to look at the struggles and adversity in your life. What did you force yourself to learn? How have you shaped the outcome of your mission? What inevitable conclusion have you reached, or are on your way to reaching?

My favorite Einstein quote is:

“The most important decision we make is whether we believe we live in a friendly or hostile universe.”

I heard this for the first time many years ago when I watched the movie, The Secret. I thought it was brilliant. Life can be totally different based upon how you answer this fundamental question.

Friendly or Hostile?

If you base your thoughts on the assumption that the Universe is friendly, then everything and everyone lines up to help you create your experiences very close to the path of least resistance.

If you base your thoughts on the assumption that the Universe is hostile, then everything you attempt will be a struggle.

So I picked, the Universe is friendly.

Or so I thought.

It turns out, at least in my case, that people make this decision very early in life. I decided the Universe was a very unfriendly place and I did not like it. I got angrier and angrier. But as I grew older I learned how to keep it from everyone, so that I was the only one who got to experience it. I got to experience it by struggling, being a martyr, and always falling a little short of my goals.

At least I thought I disguised it well. I disguised it from myself anyway. About 10 years ago my daughter told me I was the angriest person she knew. So I did the only sensible thing. I improved my disguise.

Recently I dredged it all up and saw it for what it was. And for two days I was angry at everything and everyone. My favorite very-handsome non-physical friend Paul, the Communion of Light, said, “But you’ve always been angry haven’t you?”

Nailed.

When I was one-years-old, my brother was given an overdose of insulin and went into a coma that lasted 4 years before he died. A doctor administered the shot, but my mother knew that he was making the wrong move, but was unable to question the doctor’s authority. She went into a state of guilt and sorrow. In an instant, my mother went from being loving to me, to emotionally unavailable.

I became very angry at my mother and at the world. I had made the decision that the world was indeed a very hostile place. As I got older, I grew more and more determined to succeed against all adversity.

And in so deciding, I created struggle and adversity.

So 5 decades later when I made my decision that the Universe was a friendly place, and it was like putting new paint on a rusty car. Everything about the vibration of my Universe said ***hostile***–created over and over again through my disguised anger.

Once this “white noise” emotion was uncovered it could be dealt with. Okay, okay, it took two days to get around to it.

The first step is to become okay with it. Own it as your creation. Then it will start to evolve away from you. As any strong emotion evolves away from you, it is likely you will experience sadness, as if you have lost an old friend.

Now I ask you, is the Universe friendly or hostile? Use your emotional compass to test your statement. Say both choices aloud.

The Universe is a friendly place.

The Universe is a hostile place.

Which one rings true?

I’d love to hear your comments.

.

I mean I despise them. Maybe you do too. If you would have asked me yesterday I would have told you that all the rich people I know are nice people. And that is still true. But it goes much deeper than that.

I am in an expansion phase of my life. I’ve learned that in expansion phases, if I keep my attention on what I am wanting and not get side tracked by my contrast, white-noise emotions percolate to the surface. White-noise emotions is my term for those emotions that are so constant that you assume that they are just part of how life is and are therefore invisible.

My hate for rich people was one of those white-noise emotions. And it keys off the expression that, “The rich get rich off the backs of the poor.”

There are two reasons for this. If we look back at the history of culture, even if we only go back to the time of the feudal lords, we see this being demonstrated. The poor raise the crops, the rich take away everything leaving barely enough to survive on, if that much.

In the industrial age, people were paid very little and had to work long hours. They borrowed from the company store against their wages so that, often by the time they were done, they owed more than they made and became indentured.

Even today, the Occupy Movement points out that people still feel exploited by the rich.

A millennium of evidence has ingrained within our culture the belief and expectation that, “The rich get rich off the backs of the poor.” Even if our parents did not teach us that exact phrase, they passed us the vibration of the expectation that it is so.

The other reason is that as a being of light and love, I am aware that I have experienced life on many different points of the “time line.” I have been the peasant, the lord, the worker, and the magnet. My experiences of being peasants and workers brought a lot of resentment. And anger, and hate, and despising, and despair, and sadness, and envy, and grief.

The cool thing is that all of this is perfect. I am a being of light and love who is always in the right place at the right time. This contrast has arisen at exactly the right time for me to help myself align with the new expansion I am creating.

It is a demon I know how to exorcise.

I become okay with the way I feel about this particular thought form and allow it to evolve away from me.

This hate of the rich is now no longer in alignment with who I am.

Is it possible you hate rich people?

I coined the term Grey-life Syndrome in an article I wrote for Gary Craig’s newsletter a while back. Grey-life Syndrome is a state of consciousness represented by a hum-drum existence. The two major symptoms of GLS are:

a dirth of happiness and fulfillment

resignation and acceptance

GLS is a widespread phenomenon of our culture. Our society teaches us through words, schools, and media that:

life is a struggle

you have to push through your emotions

you have to work hard all your life to get by

you can’t have what you want

be thankful for what you can get

When anyone questions the sanity of this wisdom they are met with further wisdom–

Life’s a bitch. Then you die.

And so people ride their dismal train, on tracks that are set, deeper and deeper into the desert.

The good news is that this cultural wisdom is a flat out lie. You are a being of light and love and you can have any life experience you can conceive of. You can have the whole ball of wax, happiness, fulfillment, and love.

You just have to choose the life you want to lead and follow your inner guidance, your emotional compass, and you will get there.

The biggest obstacle you face is getting the gumption to do it. But doing so puts you outside your comfort zone and that is a little scary. It’s much safer to stay in your train and ride the tracks already in place.

But people are doing it every day, and the number of people doing it is growing. And there are a growing number of people who have set themselves up to help people leave the GLS consciousness.

I am one of them.

I have made it my mission to help anyone who wants to become a conscious creator move into a life more joyful and fulfilling than they could ever imagine.

I believe that the movement from GLS to conscious creator is the shift in consciousness our planet going through.

And I created the Practical Life Design video workshop series to help as many people as possible take the first step in moving to a life of joy. The series Moving Above the Mind Maze is free. But you do have to value yourself enough to watch about 20 minutes of skill videos and three 10-minute workshops—plus do about a half-hour of exercises in each one.

But if you do, you’ll have a pretty good understanding of the mental traps that have kept you in GLS up to this point.

It’s up to you. Click here if you are ready.

Today I was sitting in my remote office by the garden applying the Law of Attraction principle of visualizing how I wanted to feel when I completed production of my upcoming video workshop. My first thought was I want to feel like I hit a home run. Of course, I was thinking metaphorically, but I was surprised at what happened when I continued the metaphor.

I grew up playing baseball so I know a little about the subject. There are two basic approaches to hitting a home run. The first is to try to hit the pitch out of the park.

Let’s extend the metaphor. You are the batter and you are trying to achieve a particular outcome. The pitcher represents the source of your own resistance to achieving that outcome. The pitcher throws the ball in such a way that it curves or jumps in relation to atmospheric (emotional) pressure. As a batter, your job is to come into alignment, in this case, the bat with the ball.

Trying to hit the ball out of the park is tricky because you give up a bit of control in order to hit the ball with more power. Professional ballplayers who use this approach tend to strike out a lot. Don’t get me wrong, some players have made a brilliant career out of doing just that. They just have to be okay with the fact that they strike out a lot.

The second approach is to try to make contact and drive the ball, or hit it firmly, where the players are not. If you do this successfully you make it to first base. If the ball gets by the defenders in the outfield, you get either a double or a triple, and make it even further around the bases.

But there are times when everything is in perfect alignment, that the ball seems to jump of the bat and sails effortlessly over the fence.

But the thing is when you are playing, getting a single, double or triple, is almost as exhilarating as hitting a home run.

Now let’s apply this metaphor to the current project. Since the video workshop is just a part of the “master plan,” I don’t have to hit it out of the park to be successful. I just have to move closer to scoring. And I can feel really good about that.

I changed my visualization to feeling like I have driven the ball.

For the longest time I pondered the meaning of what it was to be aligned. It is an overused term that really has no good definition. I know Abraham has tried to define it and I have heard some very good attempts, but unless you experience it, it’s a mystery.

We’re going to get to our topic in just a second. First, I want to say that this blog will no longer be sent out in my newsletter. If you want to get this in your email, subscribe to the RSS feed to the right. Second, I’ll be operating without a net. That’s right, Julie will not be editing my posts so I will probably write what resembles a cross between drivel and mental diarrhea. Julie will see these posts via her RSS feed or Facebook like everyone else.

The first thing I noticed was my cat. My cat was in powerful alignment with achieving contentment. Okay, that one was easy. Now I shifted to me. What was I in alignment with? Oh, I know I am in alignment with everything around me by definition, but what am I aligned with that is what I am wanting.

I am in powerful alignment with my morning coffee. If I don’t have it, I’ll find a way to get it. I totally expect to have it and in no uncertain terms will I accept not having it. What’s more, I enjoy it.

I am powerfully aligned with having with having plenty of butter in the house. We can run out of anything else, but never butter.

I was powerfully aligned with my car long before I got it. I didn’t know how I was going to afford it, but I knew it would have leather interior and a wood dash. It would also ride like driving an easy chair. I imagined this car would be a Cadillac CTS but when I read they blew engines every 50,000 miles or so I changed my mind.

When I saw my Lincoln Continental in an ad on the Internet, I knew I had to go see it. I fell in love with it from the start, but while I was driving it, another customer put a deposit on it. I tried other cars, but none felt like relief to purchase. It told the agent I would wait until another car like the one I drove came available. A week later, the other customer pulled out of the deal and I was able to purchase the one I drove.

Now I look for excuses to drive it and am looking forward to driving across country in it. Julie thinks we should take her van because it has 4 captains chairs and is a good ride for everyone (just not as nice as the RIDE (Really Indulgent Driving Experience.) I am so aligned with that car.

I am also aligned with my sessions. I really enjoy climbing into my vortex and creating a space for my clients to remember who they are so they can experience relief or come into alignment with what they are wanting. (You can sign up for a session at PracticalWizard.com BTW).

So, as you see, within a few minutes I was able to really ramp up what it feels like to be aligned.

You can do this exercise too. How does alignment manifest in your life? Use the space below if you like. I guarantee you will feel better from where you are.

How did the exercise work out? Do you have any other ideas of how to powerful achieve alignment.

Once you understand the fundamentals of EFT and have made a commitment to yourself to use EFT to help others as a business, one of the obstacles you might face is the belief that perhaps you are a phony, not well-enough qualified.

Of course, if you have not taken any training or read any materials or watched Gary Craig’s videos, you should do a good dose of those things. But if you have done your homework and your intention to help is clear, you can go ahead and start helping people.

I’m not saying quit your day job. But dive right in? Sure. Start experiencing what it feels like to be paid for your EFT services. Start doing EFT as a side venture, and you will soon know a lot more than you do now about the shape you want your business to take.

Just don’t try to practice outside yourself. By this I mean start where you are, with who you are and what you know.

Hang out your shingle with the clear intent of helping people who are a vibrational match to your abilities. They will find you. As you grow in your skills, more challenging clients will appear, but never more challenging than you can handle. As long as you are in alignment with your abilities, you will only attract people who can be helped within your abilities.

One way to stay within yourself is to work on your own issues. For this I suggest trading sessions with someone else in your position. I traded sessions weekly for 3 years when I was getting started. It was extremely helpful.

So what about feeling like a phony? I’ve known practitioners who are among the world’s elite who still feel like phonies, because you never know what you will run into with each new client. In fact, no two clients are remotely similar to one another. You will always fly by the seat of your pants. You just learn to trust yourself, that what you know is enough for the client you are working with in the moment. It gets easier to trust yourself as you do it.

So if you are ready (and no, that doesn’t mean you feel like an expert — it means your hair is raised on end with the twin excitements of fear and elation), just start helping!

According to state and federal agencies, the treatment, mitigation and diagnosis of any physical, emotional, or mental disorder is illegal unless you are a practitioner of an authorized modality of healing such as psychology, psychiatry, allopathic medicine (MD), chiropractic, and acupuncture. It is basically against the law for an EFT, Meridian Tapping, or Light TappingSM practitioner to make a claim, offer a guarantee of results, or even suggest that tapping has a positive effect on any physical or emotional disorder.

Recently, EFT Master Rue Hass underwent a year-long battle with the state of Colorado in which she was ordered to Cease and Desist her practice of EFT. Her lawyers speculated that she was being used as a test case. After $10,000 in legal fees, the case against her was dropped when she filed an appeal with the Colorado Supreme Court. I recommend everyone, especially EFT practitioners, read the article that chronicles her ordeal, “Reducing Potential Legal Risks, for Practitioners.” (Click here and scroll down to the title.)

Even though a paradigm shift is coming in the science of health care – “body as broken machine” to the body as energy — the sleeping giant, the pharmaceutical industry, has become aware of EFT and the potential revenue loss if people get better without drugs. The good news is that there are no big EFT stars making tons of money and attracting a lot of attention. The bad news is the numbers of EFT practitioners are growing, so action is likely coming.

I, for one, have played this game in two previous businesses in the vitamin and supplement industry in the 1990’s and I don’t want to play it again. So for now anyway, I am shifting my focus to being a straight Law of Attraction coach. My future writings for TAPezine will be along those lines.

*          *          *

Last week I offered a huge discount on sessions for a limited time. I am repeating that offer today and opening it up to any issue you wish to bring to the session. The nature of my business is going to shift in the next couple weeks, and I want to give anyone who has been putting off getting help from me a last chance to do so (see article). So from now until the end of May, you may purchase sessions with me for $80 (instead of $150). You may purchase as many as you like during May, to be used as you see fit until the end of the year. These sessions are also transferable to other people.

I am very good at what I do, but will be pursuing a new direction. I’ll tell you more as the situation develops.

There are two steps to taking advantage of this offer. First, use the PayPal link to purchase as many sessions as you would like. Then use the Genbook link to schedule your next appointment. I am looking forward to working with you.
