The Law of Attraction Meditation Center Facilities
The Teleporter system at the Welcome Center, links all the facilities in the Law of Attraction Meditation Center. For the most part, this is how you will travel while you are here. You will need to be a group member and where you tag to visit the facilities. If you are a seasoned SLer and are not a member, you can join by clicking the teleporter sign. If not follow the link at the beginning of this paragraph for an explanation of how to join.
Go to the teleporter in the back right of the Welcome Center. You will see a large sign with instructions.
Even though the sign above the teleporter is very clear with instructions, and you are given prompts in the hover text above the teleporter, many people find this 4 step process difficult. For this reason, I will walk you through the process step by step. Start by left clicking on the center of the teleporter wheel.
This will give you a menu in the upper right of your screen.
Choose either Men's Room or Women's Room based upon your gender. You will be prompted by the hover text above the teleporter.
It may take a few seconds for the link to become active. When it does and you are prompted to do so, click the wheel of the teleporter again. You will get a map.
As soon as the "teleport" button in the lower right becomes lit, click it to travel to the changing room.
One of the harder things that new people need to learn is how to change clothes. Although there are many good Free stores for new people, there is a problem that most of these things come in boxes. The reason this is a problem is that not many places allow you to "rez" a box so you can get the contents out. The change rooms allow you to do this.
Also provided are pose stands. Post stands help keep your avatar still so you can see what you are wearing. Standing still is critical for adjusting clothing and jewelry. Take a second and learn how to stand on a pose stand. Doing so will help you learn a skill that is often used throughout the SL site. Simply right click on the pose stand and choose stand.
You use the same method to sit in chairs, dance on pose balls, cuddle, kiss, play games, sit in meditation and use any device which contains animations. As with all of the above, to stop the animation, click "stand up."
Next go back to the teleporter. This time choose "Common Room."
The common room was designed to be both a hangout and a place where a new person can set their home base. The common room will serve this function well until you get to the point when you want to rent or buy your own home.
The Common Room, like all the other facilities, has a security system to keep out unwanted people. For a new person especially, it is nice to have a place where you can log on, and bail out to, where you can be sure no one can harass you. For the most part people on SL are very friendly. However, some individuals attempt to prey on newcomers.
To make the common room your home, walk to a patch of sand away from things (you don't want to rez on top of someone engaged in an activity as that can be considered rude.) Click WORLD from the blue menu bar and run your cursor down the menu to "Set Home to Here" and click.
It is that easy. To return here any time, also choose the WORLD drop down menu and click "Teleport Home."
Now a safe escape from any situation is two clicks away.
As you travel around second life, there are many activities and many groups you can join. Because you don't want to have to remember to put your tag on to come home (you will be rudely dumped on the street below)there is a way to come here without wearing your tag. You can be added to the security systems white list.Then you can come home no matter what tag you are wearing.
The way you do this is to send the caretaker, Chip Silverfall, an IM. The way you do this is to click the Search button in the bottom center of your screen. Click the PEOPLE tab and type Chip Silverfall in the search box, then click SEARCH.
At the bottom of the window a little right of center is a button called "Indstant Message..." Click it. You will get a communication box with an Instant Message box with Chip's name on it.
Simply write something like "I have made the Common Room my home. Please add me to security. At Chip's convenience he will do so and IM you back that it has been accomplished.
No take some time and explore the common room. Sit on the various rocks and chairs to see how it feels. When you are done, teleport to "Sessions."
Look around a bit and then TP to "Meditate"
Now you are where what the Law of Attraction Meditation Center is all about - meditation and discussion. Meditation start at 6 am SLT. Open discussion starts after that.
Take some time and look around. Then head back to the Common Room to shut down. I'll see you in the morning.
