7. Plenty of TimeI gratefully remember my sister's old boyfriend Wes, who eventually became a judge. Wes was one of those easy-going people who never got ruffled, no matter what came down the pike. Whenever my sister and I headed into nervous overload, Wes would say, "Plenty of time, plenty of time." I still use that mantra today when the pressure is on. It's pronounced, "Plenny-a tahm, plenny-a tahm." You'll notice when you vocalize this mantra that one minute seems to expand into five, and five minutes into twenty. Plus it puts a chuckle in your heart. * * *
I'm sort of joking when I call it a mantra, but frankly it seems to work that way - with repetition and no conscious thought. You can add this mantra to an EFT* Choices statement** the first time you need it, to let it work with you more deeply. While rubbing the sore spot, state three times, Even though I'm overwhelmed and panicked with everything I have to do, I choose to feel calm and know there's plenty of time, plenty of time, and the Universe will take care of me.
For the first round of eight tapping points, repeat: I'm overwhelmed and panicked with everything I have to do.
For the second round of eight tapping points, repeat: I choose now to feel calm and know there's plenty of time, plenty of time. The Universe will take care of everything.
Do a third round on the tapping points, alternating negative and positive: (eyebrow) I'm panicking and going crazy
(side of eye) But a part of me is calm. (under eye) I'm overwhelmed (under nose) But I choose now to feel content with who I am and what I'm doing. (chin) I don't know if I can get through this thing (collarbone) But I choose now to feel calm and know there's plenty of time, plenty of time. (under arm) I thank my mind for being so diligent and concerned (top of head) But I'm going to drop that now and move into trusting the Universe to take care of all these things and to take care of me. * If you are not familiar with EFT, Emotional Freedom Techniques, see Chip Engelmann's free, 16-page eBook, The EFT Quick-Start Method. ** More on Pat Carrington's Choices Technique.
