| In the preface of my book, The Born Loser's Guide to Abundance, I state that it is possible to have issues, low self-worth and limiting beliefs, and still be rich. I go on to state that it is not having the issues, but focusing on the issues, low self-worth and limiting beliefs, that cuts off the flow of abundance.
Still, the questions that came up during my teleconference last week were:
- Do I have to get rid of all my negative emotions before I can have abundance?
- How do I not focus on my issues?
The key lies in the second half of the EFT set-up phrase (you know, the part that you say really fast to get to the tapping).
(Even though I have this problem,) I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
You just have to love and accept yourself in spite of your issues, low self-worth and limiting beliefs.
I know, you want to know how you can love and accept yourself with your issues. It's easy to get your attention stuck on your problems and beat yourself up. You're angry with yourself because you can't get it right. And when you're angry at yourself, it leaks out and spreads to your family and friends until pretty soon you're angry at life, the Universe and everything. But you're a good person who knows anger is a bad thing, so you don't express it, and then you get depressed. Now you're really stuck.
Yet you feel you have to be perfect. If you're not perfect, your self-worth goes down the tubes.
So, admit you're angry and tap on being angry at yourself, and tap on being angry at life, the Universe and everything, and get over it. (Okay, some people might need help with this part.)
But let's view this whole thing through spiritual eyes (like, why are we here?). Let's look at it as though you are this golden point of light interconnected with other golden points of light. Now, suppose it is your job to make your light a little brighter so that you help the whole light matrix get a little brighter.
Let's further suppose that in order to make your light a lot brighter, at some point in the past you had a pow-wow with another point of light and you came up with a life plan. The plan involved creating adversity so that you could increase your power and resolve to shine brighter anyway. Except you forgot that you made the plan, and all you see is the adversity.
Now take a good look at your life. If you are reading this article, you may well be at the point where you're coming out of a dark tunnel. You may not yet see the end, but it is your intention to emerge victorious.
So the question to ask yourself is, is your light brighter now that you've come so far and learned so much?
If so, then all those things you think you have done wrong were like trying to fit pieces into a jigsaw puzzle. You picked up a piece and tried it a couple of ways and, when it didn't work, you put it down and tried another. When you got one right you moved on to the next piece, and so on, and now the puzzle is getting done.
So, you have not done anything wrong. There were no mistakes. You are not and have never been a bad person. You have perfectly executed your life plan.
In other words, you are perfect just the way you are. You are a golden point of light that is now brighter.
It is okay to deeply and completely love and accept yourself.
