| I was running on a deadline to get to town when a hornet that must have been trapped in the car came out of nowhere and stung my hand. I usually use essential oils for insect bites, but I had forgotten to carry my oils with me that day. Though my hand now throbbed with pain, I felt as though I had to keep driving, so I thought of doing EFT! I was able to pay attention to the twisty, curvy country road while driving with one hand on the steering wheel and rubbing on my sore spot on my chest.
My set-up phrases included:
Even though I got stung by a dang hornet, and it hurts like hell…
Even though I hate it that I got stung by a dang hornet…
Even though there is a feeling like an electric shock on the side of my hand…
Then I tapped on my different EFT points, saying my reminder phrase, dang hornet sting (only I said the cuss word, sometimes with emphasis and sometimes not at all). By the time I had tapped on my eyebrow point and the side of the eye point, I could feel the sting lessening. By the time I completed one round of tapping, the pain had become barely noticeable. Note, I find cussing beneficial while tapping, as it evokes strong feelings, and I encourage my clients to cuss while they tap if they feel comfortable doing that.
Like Gary Craig, founder of Emotional Freedom Techniques, says, try EFT on everything. By the way, when we got to our destination, I couldn't tell exactly where the hornet had stung me. There was no red spot, no swelling, nothing at all except a fading memory.
So, next time you have a small emergency, think of using EFT. It is easy, and you will probably get some good results. What do you have to lose?
